The Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, housed in the building designed by architect Jean Nouvel in Paris since 1994, is reinventing itself. It will reopen its doors in a new setting in October 2025, a stone's throw from the Louvre.
both creative space for artists and meeting place between art and the general public, the Cartier Foundation aims to encourage contemporary creation and to disseminate knowledge. Each year, the Cartier Foundation organises thematic or personal exhibitions and then passes control to the artists, enriching an important collection.
On the mezzanine floor of the Fondation Cartier, a bookshop offers a wide selection of art books.
