The underground system of Paris is a veritable labyrinth covering 300 kilometres, where two of those kilometres actually serve as a cavernous cemetery.
A veritable labyrinth in the heart of underground Paris, a unique site in former quarry galleries. Opened to the public in 1809, the world's largest ossuary houses the remains of several million Parisians as the Paris cemeteries closed.
Every day throughout the year between 9.45 am and 8.30 pm. Closed on Monday. Closed exceptionally on January 1st, May 1st and December 25th. Last entrance at 19:30

The catacombs are located 20 metres underground. Access is by staircase only. There are 131 steps down and 112 up.
