Known by the name of Hotel Biron, the magnificent private mansion dating from the eighteenth century has housed the Rodin Museum since it opened in 1919.

The presentation is a new look at the museum's collections and the creative process of the artist is at the heart of the reflection of this itinerary.

On this occasion, many pieces in plaster, which illustrate the genesis of the work of the artist, have been restored and released from the stock.

The itinerary both chronological and thematic takes place over 18 rooms and a space dedicated to the collections of graphic art and photos, which did not exist. A room ( "Rodin in the Hôtel Biron") restores the presence of Rodin in the Hôtel Biron, his home from 1908.

The furniture has been restored on this occasion, and this cabinet of curiosities presents both the master's works but also items from his collection of antiquities which he was keen on.

This collection, until now little shown, is also the subject of a presentation in the room "Rodin and Antiquity", over a hundred ancient fragments surrounding the Walking Man are hung on the wall, reflecting the admiration that Rodin had for Antiquity and the diversity of his collection.

The hanging of fifty paintings from the collection of the artist is also a discovery for the public, Père Tanguy by Van Gogh or The Thinker by Edward Munch, but also The Théâtre de Belleville by Eugène Carrière restored over 3 years in the Centre for research and restoration of museums of France, which has regained its brilliance.
