The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris exhibits the designer's work in the historic location of his former fashion house, through a retrospective tour and thematic temporary exhibitions presented successively.
On 3 October 2017, more than fifteen years after the closure of the haute couture house, the Yves Saint Laurent Paris Museum opened. It occupies the historic mansion at 5 avenue Marceau where Yves Saint Laurent's creations were born for almost 30 years, from 1974 to 2002.
Over 450 m2, a constantly renewed presentation, alternating between retrospective and thematic temporary exhibitions, gives an account of the designer's creative genius as well as the process of creating the haute couture collections. But more than just a monographic museum, it is also a witness to the history of the 20th century and of haute couture, which accompanied a certain art of living that has now disappeared.
