Visitors swarm to the banks of the Seine to soak up the playful atmosphere that prevailed at the time of the Impressionists. Between 1855 and 1928, this guinguette attracted fun-loving Parisians, including Monet and Renoir who featured it in several of their works.
With its paintings, objects and engravings surrounded by Belle Époque guinguette décor, this museum perfectly recreates the leisure, culture and pleasure destination that people – the Impressionists in particular – loved so much.
