Created in 2003 by Bartabas in the Grande Écurie of the Château de Versailles, the Académie équestre de Versailles is a major innovation in the field of performing arts.
As a high-level educational establishment, it combines Haute École dressage work with various artistic disciplines such as fencing, dance, singing and Kyudo (Japanese archery). Its repertory show, La Voie de l'écuyer, is performed every weekend of the year, when the company is not on tour to present its new creations.
