Gambetta's house. The objects, witnesses of an era.
This winegrower's house was built on the southern slope of the Domaine de Saint-Cloud at the end of the 17th century. It was owned by the writer Honoré de Balzac, and later by Léon Gambetta, founder of the Third French Republic, who bought it in 1878 and died there in 1882. It has come down to us in its original decor, a place where the statesman lived and worked, and today a place of remembrance for the fighting republican.
