Giverny and Auvers sur Oise Private Tour

  • Gastronomy
  • Discovery

The Impressionist painters loved places by the river and the little towns in the Paris region, such as Argenteuil, Auvers-sur-Oise and Giverny, where Monet lived. However Monet, an artist of genius, had a second, lesser known passion: cooking!

The Route des Gourmets offers an unusual itinerary on the theme of 19th century gastronomy and the Impressionist movement.

From Paris to Giverny, via the Musée de l’Absinthe and its myth, the famous Auberge Ravoux where Van Gogh died, right up to the House of Monet and his notebooks of recipes, it enables you, accompanied by a guide, to experience this era when Parisians went picnicking on the banks of the Oise.

Also on the programme of the day: discover the landscapes immortalised by famous artists and gastronomic specialities of the time, such as French toast, Chicken Supreme, or Duck with turnips.
