Tourism activity in Paris Region is recovering after two years of a health crisis that seems to be progressively dissipating. The first half of 2022 was marked by the end of almost all restrictions on international travel (except for China and Japan), which led to a dynamic recovery in tourism activity. The number of visitors during the summer period confirms the upward trend of the first half-year.

Description

During the first 6 months of the year, the destination welcomed around 18.2 million tourists, mainly French and local Europeans.

Tourist arrivals in the first half of 2022 are thus higher (+218%) than in the first half of 2021 but remain lower than in the first half of 2019 (-23%).

The summer season (from June to August) confirms the upward trend observed during the first 6 months with a 133% increase compared to the same period in 2021.

Finally, the outlook for the remainder of the year is encouraging and suggests that this dynamism should continue.

For example, hotel reservations recorded at the end of August for the period from September to November are 180% higher than those for the comparable months of last year.
