Between the Auberge Ravoux and the Château, this house, which Van Gogh passed on his way to where he liked to paint behind the Château, today traces the legend of absinthe, the favourite drink of poets and artists in the 19th century.
It contains information on the medicinal value of the plants that went into it, how they were cultivated and processed to manufacture this spirit, and the rituals associated with drinking it. The artefacts in this unique collection include a display of rare absinthe spoons, a reconstruction of a period café, and original works (Manet etchings, Daumier prints, etc.) all illustrating the important role of café culture in artistic inspiration and the influence of the "Green fairy" on the arts.

From 18/03 to 29/10, every Saturday and Sunday between 1.30 pm and 6 pm.
