After two years of renovation, the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie unveils a redesigned version of the Cité des enfants for ages 2–6, conceived as an immersive and educational space dedicated to early scientific discovery and sensory exploration.
The Cité des sciences et de l’industrie is reopening the Cité des enfants (ages 2–6) following a complete transformation. More than a renovation, the space has been entirely redesigned to meet the evolving needs of young audiences and adapt to changing cultural practices.
Designed in collaboration with childhood and science specialists, the new Cité des enfants offers an immersive and sensory approach aimed at stimulating curiosity, imagination, and early scientific learning.
Spanning nearly 1,800 sqm, the experience is structured around several themed environments, including a forest, a construction site, air and water zones, as well as creative and motor skills areas. Children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and interact freely through play-based learning.
The experience also emphasizes interaction between children and accompanying adults, fostering shared and intergenerational discovery. Particular attention has been given to inclusion and accessibility, with features adapted to a wide range of needs and visitor profiles.
With this new version, Universcience reinforces its position as a leader in youth-focused museography, offering a cultural experience that is both educational and immersive, aligned with contemporary challenges in knowledge transmission.
