Jardin d'Acclimatation

The Jardin d'Acclimatation is a zoo and amusement park created by Napoléon III and Empress Eugénie. It is open 365 days a year and attracts families, tourists and walkers.

The Jardin d'Acclimatation spans 18 hectares in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne and can be accessed by a narrow-gauge train from Porte Maillot station. There is a range of activities to explore, including the legendary Enchanted River, funhouse mirrors, free play areas with swings, slides and climbing frames, and a little Normandy-style farm with rare species. Enjoy a peaceful lunch on the terrace of one of the restaurants or at one of the stands before jumping on the fairground rides, acquired from the nearby Luna Park.

Highlights:

Workshops for the whole family:

The Jardin d'Acclimatation offers children's workshops (cookery, magic, theatre, gardening and more) There are also workshops for adults, on subjects such as baking, cookery, fragrance and wine, as well as workshops where parents and children can cook together.

Events throughout the year:

The Jardin d'Acclimatation hosts events all year round: a carnival in February, 'Printemps des Poètes' in March, an Easter egg hunt and much more. In April, the Jardin d'Acclimatation celebrates civilisations, cultures and people from all around the world by inviting a country or region to put its culture on show for a month. Japan, Korea, Morocco, India, China, the US, Russia, French Overseas Territories and Brazil have all had this honour in previous years.
