In 2019, the Spanish and Portuguese markets accounted for more than 2 million visitors and more than 8 million room nights in the capital region!
Both these markets remained resilient amidst the health crisis and are already returning to our destination in 2022.
We organised two workshops, held on 18th and 19th May in Madrid and Lisbon, with the Spain and Portugal bureau of Atout France.
The main tour-operators, travel agencies and events agencies from Spanish, Portuguese and South American markets were targeted.
Initially planned for 2020, this roadshow is included in our 2022 joint Paris Region Tourist Board-Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau action plan.
In total, about 70 Spanish and Portuguese professionals attended the workshops to meet our team and partners and to discover all the new features of the destination.
Before each workshop, a presentation of the Paris Region destination was given to our travel trade guests.
10 business representatives were in attendance alongside the Paris Region Tourist Board, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, France Convention Bureau - Spain & Portugal Region Office. Those in attendance were exhibitors or visitors to exhibitions and fairs held in the capital region.
16 professionals from the destination joined us at the roadshow. Among them were: accommodation providers, activities, institutional bodies and a local transfers company. A delegation that was truly representative of our destination!
