The Maillol Museum takes you into the astonishing world of hyperrealism in contemporary art.
After Bilbao, Canberra, Rotterdam, Liège, Lyon and Brussels the travelling exhibition "Hyperrealism. This is not a body" is now on display in Paris at the Musée Maillol, in an enriched and partly unpublished version.
Hyperrealism** emerged in the 1960s in the United States as a reaction to the dominant aesthetic of abstract art. It is an artistic movement that seeks to imitate the forms, contours and textures of the human body in order to create a perfect illusion.
The exhibition brings together more than 40 sculptures by leading international artists including: George Segal, Ron Mueck, Maurizio Cattelan, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Duane Hanson, Carole A. Feuerman, John DeAndrea...
From 08/09/2022 to 05/03/2023, daily between 10.30 am and 6.30 pm. Open on Wednesdays until 10pm.
