Chagall, Modigliani, Soutine… Paris as a School, 1905-1940 Musée d'art et d'histoire du judaïsme

  • Exhibition

NEW DATES -The MAHJ is devoting a major exhibition to "L'Ecole de Paris", this artistic scene made up of foreign artists from all over Europe, but also from America, Asia and Africa.

Among these men and women, there are many Jewish artists from the great European cities, but also from the Russian Empire, who seek artistic, social and religious emancipation. It is to this generation of artists who arrived between 1904 and 1914 and to their destinies that the Museum of Jewish Art and History is devoting an exhibition. It will retrace the reasons for their settlement in Paris, the special ties that united them, the historical and political framework of their work and, of course, their participation in the artistic scene in what was then the capital of modern art.
