PRELIMINARY REPORT FOR TOURISM IN 2017 IN PARIS REGION (DECEMBER 2017)

Over the first 10 months of 2017, hotel occupancy in Paris Region rose to 28.2 million arrivals and 57.1 million room nights.

Description

From January to October, hotel occupancy grew by nearly 10% in terms of arrivals and by nearly 11% in terms of room nights, which represents a rise in the average occupancy rate (+6 points). All clienteles have shown growth, notably the Japanese (+36%), German (+20%), Chinese (+19%), American (+18%) and Belgian (+15%) markets.
The French clientele is also up by 6%.
Compared to 2016, the Paris Region destination enjoyed a rise of 2.5 million hotel arrivals.

In November 2017, 66% of travel trade professionals surveyed claimed to have experienced growth in their business compared to November 2016 and the medium term forecasts are, on the whole, encouraging, with 54% of these professionals expecting further growth.
