With the "Volunteers of tourism", the Region Ile-de-France and tourist professionals are committed to assuring the best of welcomes to tourists this summer
Given the resurgence in tourist numbers which has increased by 11% and by 18% for foreign visitors, Valérie Pécresse, President of the Paris Region decided to deploy 500 volunteers, identifiable in purple vests, on the destination’s main tourist sites: the Musée du Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, the Musée d'Orsay, Montmartre, the department stores on Boulevard Haussmann, the Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports, the Parisian train stations, Disneyland Paris, the National Museum of Natural History, the Palais des Congrès and also Vincennes, Versailles, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Saint-Denis, Auvers-sur-Oise, Fontainebleau, Provins etc. from 4th July to 31st August.
This mass and unprecedented deployment in Paris and Ile-de-France shows that tourism professionals, who are committed to this regional system, are aware that the quality of hospitality is a strategic issue for the world's leading tourist destination.
The 500 Volunteers of Tourism were trained by the Paris Region Tourist Board teams and are tasked with informing and guiding the large numbers of French and foreign tourists this summer.
