Workshop and eductour for British tour operators 17 and 18 October 2013
Therefore, 20 British tour operators were invited to take part in the first Paris Region Showcase. Over a two-day period they were able to meet 28 Paris Region companies during a workshop with pre-scheduled 10-minute appointments. They also visited sites and products during a FAM tour based on the theme proposed by the destination for 2014: History, and more specifically the First World War which is of particular interest to the British.
The workshop took place at the Musée de l’Armée and at the end of the operation a cocktail party with wine and cheese was organised in partnership with Seine et Marne Tourisme. The participants visited the Musée de la Grande Guerre de Meaux and the Musée de l’Armée during the FAM tour that followed the workshop.
It was ETOA that dealt with registering the tour operators and organising the pre-scheduled appointments while Paris Region Tourist Board dealt with all of the Paris Region operation and relations with Paris Region partners.
This first operation proved to be a very positive experience for all the participants including the tour-operators and Paris Region professionals. Therefore, it will be renewed in 2014 but it aims to increase the number of tour operators to over 25 and the number of Paris Region professionals to 35.
