The former Jazz Club Lionel Hampton took its name from the great American jazz vibraphonist who performed there many times in the 1980s. This shows how much this club has been, since its creation in 1976, by Moustache, a great French jazz drummer, one of the favourite places of jazzmen.
Located within the Hotel Meridien-Etoile, a stone's throw from the Porte Maillot, the Jazz Club Etoile has seen some great names, such as Dizzy Gillespie and Cab Calloway, pass through. In the early 1980s, this club was one of the first to bring the great names of soul and blues to Paris, such as BB King or Fats Domino, and it was one of Ike Turner's favourite places.
Today, the 250-seat hall welcomes the great talents of jazz and soul, but also funk and world music every evening from 9:30 pm. You can also sip original cocktails and enjoy sushi or quality burgers.
